Tip: Get off of the computer.
This point may seem quite ironic considering how you are probably reading this on a computer (even smartphones count as computers). But consider getting off of them for quite a while. Your job most likely involves them, so you probably can’t do anything about that. However at home, consider keeping your phone, laptop and desktop at a fair bit of distance from yourself.
Using computers has a tendency to offset our mood at times and during depression can be either quite detrimental or beneficial. It really depends on how you respond to technology and how you use it. But if you get off of it for a while, you will find yourself to be a lot more active in taking care of other chores like cleaning, yard work or even simple exercising like walking.
Keep your chin up, be positive :).
Note: A little PSA, if anyone reading this is by chance interested in spreading the word about my free motivational app to help those with depression, anxiety or simply a lack of motivation. Please email me at: firstname.lastname@example.org. I’ll email you either a link or an attachment for a press kit (contains detailed information for the app).
The more people know of the app’s existence the better for it’s exposure, and helping others.
