Tip: Avoid alcohol and drugs.
Alcohol and drugs by some are believed to act as mood enhancers. However the reality is that they can worsen depression. Substance abuse is also something that can cause depression in you rather than “cure” it. If you are already depressed, you run the risk of spiraling deeper into it. Alcohol and drug use can also deepen your feelings for suicide as the two things act based off of and amplify your feelings surrounding your present life.
Alcohol and drugs in the long run will do you no good. They will only be a detriment to you taking the steps towards recovery. If you find that you have a problem with alcohol and or drugs, it is recommended that you reach out for help.
Keep your chin up, be positive :).
